  • 20G "Temple in the Woods"

I know the name sounds weird, but the driftwood thats the central piece in this layout reminds me of old temples covered with trees I have seen in my childhood . The trailing roots of Anubias over the wood and the cave formed under it looks like a ancient temple entrance. Hence the title "Temple in the Woods"

This tank has just regular sand substrate and DIY CO2. I just started this tank as a experimental tank to see what kind of plants i could grow.

I would like to hear your comments and criticism for more improvement.
    Thanks

beautiful tank, and i love the name too, makes complete sense, i am pretty new, but i have been completely obcessed with planted tanks lately, so i saw at least a 1000 pix on the internet of tanks, based on that i would say that if you moved the val looking plant from the middle right to the right corner, it would probably look even better, but the tank is amazing looking just as is

are those bolivian rams?  where did you get them?  they have more color than the other pix or live one's i have seen
    65 gallon - ADA 120p - planted
55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid
    30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted

    live and let live

It is a beauty, looks very natural. Fish, shrimp and plants seem to be happy.
        How many W/G of light?

Thanks a lot FinFan for the compliments. As you said yeah i need to do some thing about the right side I actually have some pearlweed, HM and crypt. Wenditti in there. I had just done a trim a few days back and it needs to fill in. The Val like plant is Crypt. Spirallis. I am trying to do a triangular layout with tall plants in the middle and slope on the side so that a viewers attention goes straight to the center.  The crypt, Spirallis was actually on the right side as you suggested but i thought it would make more impact at the center. Thanks for the idea though.

Yeah the fishes are bolivian rams. They are actually a lot more colorful thank the ones you see in the store. I had bought 2 of them from Aquazoo and got 4 from a member here on the FishBox. They are about 2.5".

Do HM on the right side and just trim it a few days before taking pictures.

Yeah Mike and Jeff become magicians when they get in the zone!

The minuta should do fine in the sand put it's a pain to plant if you got shrimp and fish that will pick at it cause that stuff up roots like no other.

You could remove them or go to a craft store and buy the plastic cross stitching grids and make a cage around what you are planting till they root.

They have been in there for a couple of hours and none is uprooted still. Lets see how it goes. The plastic grid sounds like a good idea.
