Re: Hello All, new to planted tanks and need some help!

I looked at getting 2 2217s or 2 xp3s, and I guess will put my 2213 up for sale. Price wise there is not much difference, but as far as flow the xp3s seem to be better. I have read some threads on this and other forums that made complaints about noise, I am really only concerned with not having them both or either one take a 75 gal "leak" on my living room floor. I understand this can happen in either case so might be an invalid point, your input on the choices.

PS. I now have a used 2213 for sale or trade! Also on block 1 red sea substrate heater BNIB. 1 Emperor 400 BNIB. 1 98 nissan maxima trade for Schwinn w/family package.

Just a comment on your dwarf gouramis more than one will bully the other .. I thought I could do two in my well planted 75 and one ended up dead.

Also think about a school of otos to replace your plecos.  Most plecos get big in a 75 and could draw attention away from your other fish.

Noted and will investigate before going any further.  What setup do you have with your 75?

Just an aside to MateFrio's comment about the fauna:

Ageeed -  Don't do two gouramis. Either one or a group. I think otocinclus would look nice in a planted tank, but dwarf plecos would be fine as well...

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

haha you double posted (we have all done it sooner or later), the one bonus i like over just using o-cats is the variety of dwarf plecos you can have, a longfinned Bristlenose, and a rubberlip, and a clown pleco, maybe even a gold nugget (the smaller kind) it gets like crazy.

Clowns and gold nuggets are plant nibblers.
