Can i just throw in duck weed in my tank? Does it need anything special will my fish eat it? Any help appreciated.

Yes you can just throw it in. You need a light that will provide a good source of photosynthesis for it I grow and multiply. Depending on the fish you have and how hunger they are can depend on if they eat it or not. It can clog an intake strainer if it gets to it.

Yea I hate it as well, it covers my tanks so the plants dont get any light. But I do have giant duckweed as well. that is pretty cool. And some of my over populated snail tanks clear the tank of any duckweed they can get.Guppies:

duckweed can be a plague and choke off light to the tank so make sure that you really want it. turtles and some cichlids love to eat it but most fish wont bother.75G Standard - High Light Planted Community Fish
