I believe it was growing at City Pets for a while because it had rooted into the substrate, I've had this plant for nearly two weeks now and it is still light green. I'm willing to part with a stem.

It almost looks like Staurogyne sp. 'Porto Velho' except for the wavy leaves and lack of color. But that could be nutritional. Then again, it also looks like Pogostomon helferi (Downoi) converting to submersed conditions. Give it a couple weeks and see if the leaves color up and straighten. Going by the stem and leave arrangement, I'm leaning toward the Staurogyne. (But I've been wrong before. )

would the lighter leaves possibly be a phosphorus deficiency? i thought it could be downoi, which is why i mentioned pogostemon, but the leaves on that look pretty stiff from the pics i have seen. it would be nice to see it growing in another tank under different conditions to see how it responds.

The leave being lighter could be a deficiency, but I tend to think it would be splotchy and not even with the color.

Jozle, we are having a meeting for HAAPS this week end. you care welcome to join us and bring a sample of it so we can take a closer look.

Uniform chlorosis can be a beginning sign of either nitrate or iron defficiency. Coming from a pet store, there's no telling what, if any, nutrients were availble for the plant.

YES! (In fact, everyone is welcome to join us.) We'll be taking a look at Kevin's nursery/grow-out set-up.
