Yeah they are the first week. It leeches out ammonia. If you keep up daily water changes for a week, it'll settle down. It's great stuff! I notice a huge difference from the eco complete African cichlid sand. The plants are rooting faster and growing fast.

Got my hands on a DSLR. Took a ton of nooby pics. I'll post once I get them uploaded to pb. The plants are tolerating the excel quite well! Got a bunch of plants from Jozle. Haven't planted any of the plants yet, but hopefully they tolerate the excel. If not, I'm gonna have to lower the dosage again.
