  • Ground cover

Looking to find a plant that is good for ground cover. I have a 29g with high out put lights and no CO2. Looking for something that doesn't require CO2 to grow rapidly. Thanks for the help.

Look into seachem excel as an alternative to CO2

        Re: Ground cover

I've grown HC using no CO2 in a shallow tank w/ T5HO. 29gal is kinda tall.

Dwarf hair grass as MJ mentioned is an excellent choice too.

Dwarf baby tears. HC= abbreviation of the latin name.

            Hemianthus callitrichoides.

I've noticed that rcs seems to be a very resilient shrimp compared to the others. They should be fine

Ok guess I will try it out. Either that or I might look into DIY C2 or paintball setup.

ive been running my co2 in my spec at very low levels lol. and lights on for only 6 hours. HC growing wildly in a 2 gallon. diy co2 might do it for you. just have a good light.

watch your co2 levels with diy if it goes nuclear say bye bye to shrimp

I just planted some marsilea crenata (four leaf clover) it will carpet but its a slow grower i will be dosing ferts as well as excel

                        Ground cover

Running DIY co2 with yeast does get jumpy. I did it before making a paintball co2 setup and it was hard to keep a stable co2 count. Probably good for plant only tank lol. Or cheap shrimps ^^
