According to the info you posted, the light has extendable brackets that will extend to 30". Not only that, it comes with 2 bulbs at a great temp (6500k). Info says the fixture supports up to 24w T5HO bulbs. Not bad for low light plants

If you have low light, you are limited to moss. Phoenix moss isn't bad, it stay lows like ricia and it will root.
I have the patience of a goldfish....

High light will grow anything. Doesn't matter if the plants are low light plants or not. You can get the high lights if you want. It will open up a huge variety of plants to choose from compared to low light. Swords, anubias, moss, stems, etc. are all good for low/med light. You're not limited to only moss unless you're talkin very low light.

As for where to find them, post up a wanted thread on here. I'm sure there's a good number of members in our area of town that have different types of moss. I have some spare riccia if you want. It's not much though. Maybe about a quarter size or more? Let me know when and if you want to stop by. It grows decently in my tank. I started out a little bit. They seem to take well to excel and becomes a neon green/bright green?

hairgrass is not very high maintenance it all depends on the nutritiousness you are providing if you leave your light on too long then you grow algae and to combat that algae you start using co2 and dose ferts. if you limit the amount of light and nutrience then the plants will grow just not as fast as you would if you had a high tech tank in fact I'm carpeting my tanks with dhg beleem with no co2 and no ferts at all

I dose ferts, the tank is overstock, and I keep the light on for 12hrs a day. No algae yet. Tank has been setup since september? There was a lot of algae at first but after adding a lot of plants and cuc I didn't see any algae. Imo, best way to combat and keep algae at bay is to pack your tank with plants. Safe and you don't have to mess with excel or co2

Yup... it's the same for me. The first month my tank got all types of algae.... when the carpet took over and the background plant grew out... I hardly see any algae breakout anymore it's in control without the need of dosing anything.... My clean up crew is pretty small for my tank too..
