I love Eco-Complete, its a terrific general purpose planted substrate. Flourite works very similarly and could offer more color options if you are interested. We have used a variety of different substrates for planted tanks and there are quite a few, but for a larger tank and having no Ph desires I think its your best choice hands down. I would recommend acquiring some Root Tabs for initial planting and a bottle of Seachem Flourish (broad fertilizer) and excel (Alternative carbon source to CO2) that can really help in the initial stages. Flourish also acts as a mild algaecide, so it gets the plants growing and helps any algae issues. It does work well. Feel free to hit us up on here with any questions, I think someone on here has tried nearly everything once before and can help direct whether its junk or useful.

Planted tanks can get quite addictive, especially with all the different options and wider inhabitant choices. Ask lots of questions you have and we'll do our best to answer them, there are a lot of great planted tank folks here on the box and we love to help out!
