  • Newbie here...wondering about floating plants and where to get them

So we are new aquarium keepers...currently have only a couple of five gallon tanks with some mollies and fancy guppies. I was thinking about getting a couple of floating plants since the guppies all love the tops of the tanks and it is pretty pathetic up there. In looking at pictures and articles it seems there are a lot of good options, but I really like the looks and root structures of the mini/dwarf water lettuce. Anyone know where I can get that around here or a good reason I should go with something else instead? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Riccia is a great option, done as a floater it can really look great. Water Lettuce is an invasive here in Texas, so illegal to trade/own. Same goes for many floaters, Hyacinth and a few others. Some good ones are Red Root Floaters, Amazon Frogbit, and even Hornwort can do quite well in that regard.

I have some but it's still growing. I gave a bunch away a while back.
