Thanks to Ruston123fishing I got my new nano planted tank.

Got it earlier today in the after noon and just finished it, I'm happy with the way it came out. What do you guys think?

I mean it looks that way because it has more plants and driftwood. Lol

i had to tear down my 10 gallon but save the plants and fish.

I should've took more time in planting.... But I don't know, I guess it does look good for setting it up in 1 day, now I not know what to do with my 10, I might just sell it as a kit, I don't have room for it.

What are the dimensions on the 8g bow? If my eyes aren't playing tricks, it seems like the light fixture doesn't quite reach the ends of the tank. If this is the case, you may consider moving the stems to the middle and planting lower light plants to the sides.

BTW those swords are going to get really big really quick lol. There are plenty of crypts that will work in that size tank without the burden and nutrient hounding.

I got it from ruston123fishing, he told me he got it from someone else, I forgot who it was. And yeah I'm in love with the dimensions and style.

Indeed, we have a 6 gallon bowfront that would be perfect if it was an 8, lol. Lighting is tough on it, but low light plants do terrific. Especially if done as a soft water set up. Crypts explode in very soft water. Most of the others do quite poorly, I was a bit surprised at how a truly soft acidic water tank can really change what we think we know about our hobby.

Without a doubt We had crypts growing so slowly in every other tank I was honestly shocked at their growth. They certainly dig softer water

Just curious what did you use to soften the water I used peat moss in the filter but was going through a 5 pound bag every three months or so

(Sorry to hijack the thread) Softening water can be a real chore, especially if you are starting with our tap. I would never even attempt it. I recommend starting with a Ph reducing substrate (Aquasoil, Brightwell, Acadama, Stratum) and only use distilled water for water changes (or RO if you have it). IAL and Peat could also be used, but takes far longer. We were able to achieve less then 6.0 in no time. Remember that bacteria ceases to function at a Ph that low, so WC schedule is a must. Ammonia is a bit different at that Ph as well, and is more concentrated into harmless Ammonium. It still reads on the test results with either present, so following a chart is very helpful. I posted one in a soft water thread in the chemistry section awhile ago.
