HC vs Glosso???

    HC vs Glosso???

    Hey errbody,

    So Im in my 2nd month with HC and Im not impressed. I have 3 watts per gallon (12 hours), DIY CO2 that I disconnect at night.

    The HC is just hanging in there. Its not spreading and its showing very very little growth.

    So I read about Glosso being easier to care for, grows quicker and provides that lush carpet look Im so desperate for.

    What do y'all think?

    Never dealt with glosso, but HC does indeed grow extremely fast emersed compared to submerged.

    Mine grew like weeds for the first month emersed.

      I wish I had read about that technique before I got to where i am now. Dangit! Ah well...

      Anyone have any thoughts on replacing the submerged HC with Glosso?

        If you don't have any livestock, you can easily change it from submerged to emersed. It'll save you some $$

              Exactly! The whole reason I got back into this was to get a tank with the carpet look. I wish I could go emersed. Soes anyone want to babysit my fish for a couple months? LOL, Im somewhat serious...

                  ill babysit them. i have to keep a 10g running for a hospital tank and i jsut finish buying fish lol i also took my last 2 endlers from work and place them there. the fools were eating my cherries.

                      Ive got 8 CPD's, 1 Erythromicron, 4 apple snails, 4 assasin snails, 3 SAE's, and some shrimps...

                          they all fit pretty good on a 10. i may set up a 20l this weekend. i have some old ada soil that im going to try to plant again. and see how it goes. by the way i like that Erythromicron. its nice. i have nothing on that tank but 2 female endlers.

                            I think getting a tank in my home office was the best and worst idea I ever had.

                            I am strongly considering taking your offer to take care of my guys while I go HGTV on their digs...Im also wondering about all these igloo coolers I have in my garage. I could keep them and the plants in an igloo with some extra eco-complete substrate I have. I do worry about chemicals leaching off the plastic interior...but wait! I have one for drinking water, maybe that could be safe for them...need to research.

                              I must admit, my Avatar is a stock photo. My erythromicron is very similar in size and markings, but I have not seen him in breeding mode yet as he is a loner. Plus, my camera is garbage.
