  • 36 inch T5 suggestions

I'm looking for suggestions for a T-5 for my tank, something reasonably priced, as in under $250. I currently have this light fixture http://www.amazon.com/Marineland-Dou.../dp/B0032536R4 which is fine for fish only, but I know I'm going to need more even for easy care plants.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

Are you trying to keep low light plants? If you are, $250 is pretty expensive. You can get by with a T8 which is much cheaper and will sustain low/med light plants. Buying a used fixture also saves a ton of money. I'm pretty sure if you want to stick to a T5 for low light plants, you can find a used 36" for about $50-75.

I was only stating the max I wanted to pay. If I can get away with paying less certainly I'd like to. I was thinking a 4 bulb t5 so if down the road I wanted to do med/high plants I could. I do know I'll want some Amazon swords.

The Oddesea's are decent fixtures. They come in dual and quads, depending on your needs and you can customize your bulbs when ordering, 6500K, 10,000K, plant and actinic. They are out of Houston and shipping is quick. Top Dog Sellers on Ebay. Even the quad is under $100 bucks. We have used them and never had an issue.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Johnnytrinh is selling a quad T5 for $50. You could run just two bulbs until you're ready to up the lighting to med-high light
