Trying to motivate myself to upgrade my tangs to a 75... still just sitting in the garage, lol

              • Reduce light hours. Dose excel. Or you can do blackout method for 3 days. it's because your plants havent gotten established

Oh i'd definitely be down to get some trimmings from you roy... i probably need to trim my tanks especially my 12 long its looking like an overrun jungle but i kinda like it that way... i bought a 20 long today and am going to move my 15 gallon plants and fish onto it... so i'll have more room for plant lol i like the longer footprint...

                  • Light hours is at 8, I'll reduce it to 4-6hrs to see if I can reduce it and if not I'll try a black out. I have vals and I heard excel is toxic to them?

                    • 8 hours is good enough. You can temporary reduce. Or you can plant more fast growing plants

                      • Its always been at 8hrs though. I figure the algae would be use to this light cycle?

I did a major hard rescape today. Took out that huge driftwood out and added some manzanita driftwood. That original piece took up at least 8g of water! I figure that would give me a little more room for the inhabitants. Would like to add a few more pieces of rock.

I also finished rescaping the plants. Removed the jungle val and dwarf sag. I added a pretty nice size melon sword, 3 pots of narrow leaf micro swords, and a anubias nana. Definitely going back to buy more anubias nana and barteri. Also would like to try some crypt again. Going to hunt down nore narrow leaf micro sword. I'm more then likely going to replace my val background wall with wisteria. Thinking a Amazon sword would look nice in the background as well.

Pics to come as the tank is cloudy from the rescape.

                        • Here it is! I made the manzanita from four different pieces . Looks a little plain now. Hopefully I can fully stock on plants today with the budget I have for this week.

What do y'all think about those two rock placements? I would like to add another piece somewhere in the middle. Any suggestions? Thanks.

                            • Love the manzanita branches... Here is a link from TPT of someone doing a whole wall of Vals, looks pretty sweet. Do you have any bigger rocks? I think putting one a little behind the branch on the far right, at the gap where the heater is would look cool.

                              • Thanks Jake!

My original plan was a wall of val with two Amazon sword, but my val are the only plant that grows crazy algae and has been since the beginning so I was going to try a wall of wisteria instead. I'll relocated that rock behind the branch and see how it looks. Hopefully I can pick up some more rocks tonight.
