It does, but then again I was only running two bulbs and not the full four.

          • Just bought some epsom salt and about you treat after this water change.

Should I still dose my fertilizers while doing the epsom salt treatment?

              • Two of my male rainbow fish has ICH. Raised the temperature to 84 and made garlic water and soaked there pellets in it. Hopefully I don't have to use any chemicals. Don't see it on any other fish. Also would epsom salt help get rid of ICH or does it actually have to be sea salt?

                • Has to be real salt. Magnesium Sulfate doesn't work in the same way as Sodium Chloride.

                  • how did they suddenly show sign of ich @_@? wow... well, these fish like I said are very random. Epsom salt isn't really NaCl which will not do anything to ich. if you use seasalt, careful your plants might die just like mine 3 months ago. you can always use QuickCure.

                    • I noticed it yesterday but they could of had it longer. I doubt it was your plants suicune. Dang, that sucks, was really hoping epsom salt would work.

                      • did they got stress from anything? The plants shouldn't be a problem as ick needs live host. Sometimes, ich can already be in the fish but only show when the fish feel stress.

Back then, I bought a goldfish with Dien from the box, we both buy from the same guy at the same tank. His were fine, but mine suddenly show sign of ich the second day it was in my tank and spread it to everyone. I figure it was because of the longer travel time and I might have mishandling the fish.

                        • The only thing differently I did was add epsom salt. Later that day is when I notice the ich.

                          • did you premix the salt in some tank water then pour it in? how did you add the salt, it could be salt particle trap to the fish body.

I was originally putting the salt directly into the water but then it just seem like it was a lot of salt sitting at the bottom so I then premixed it with tank water, then poured it in slowly.

                              • it could be the salt particle stuck on your fish slime coat. you should always premix before you drop anything in. You can always try to use QuickCure or just turn your heater to 86 degree as ich cannot live at that temperature. Sea Salt will also kill ich but not necessary if you turn the temps up that high. I used salt because I have goldfish but your tank is mostly tropical so it's fine to turn the temp up. Just do it slowly. But make sure it is ich before you do anything.
