  • Are these plants lowlight?

Will these Val's do good in lowlight? It seems like they've been getting less green and yellowish.. Shoul I move them to my highlit tank?

Kind of looks like jungle val. It should be a low/med val. How long ago did you add it to the tank? It may just be adjusting to the water parameters.

I have had Val. in a low light tank. I was told it would grow but it was real slow. So I think I was lied too.
But it could be another prob.

Jungle val is a good low light plant. That doesn't mean it will grow as fast as in co2 and better light.

i put the plant in this past weekend, i just dont want them to die when i could move them over to a highlit tank.. so i was just curious to see if they can grow in lowlight.

It grows just fine in our puffers tank but it has more light. My low light tank has every low light. it make it look like a dark water tank. witch is the look I wanted. The puffer tank is still low light.

Vals will grow fine in low light. They'll definitely grow faster in CO2 and high light. You should be fine. This past weekend wasn't that long ago. I'm gonna put my money on the plant adjusting to the new tank. Best to leave it where it's at and not move it around too much.

The sand shouldn't be a problem. I'm growing Corkscrew Vals in PFS. I'm sure there are several others who are growing vals in sand. Just give it some time, light, and nutrients.
