wasted 7 bucks on those panacur just to know they are not planaria. well, I guess I can just put that pea puffer in that shrimp tank for a day or two to clear the mosquito, then put it back into the 10g, back and forth like that. that shrimp tank now has mosquito larvae(which essesntially the same as bloodworm, ramshorn snails, and shrimp!!) I'm ready for the pea puffer!!

Might be a bit of stress for a puffer.

Yeah definitely rasbora or endler would work better... And at least it's not hydra/planaria!!

Put in a rasbora but it doesn't care for the larvae at all :(... Got someone to pick up the betta in the nano tank soon... I will just pick up the pea puffer today... Then clean up that 10g a little, plants some more hygro sunset then put the pea puffer in there next week

Give them some time. Not all fish eat as soon as they're introduced into a new environment. Also don't feed that tank. The fish will get hungry and then they'll definitely eat the hydra as it's the only food available.

Got a little pea puffer today. I wanted to wait longer but school starts soon and between work and volunteer I will not have anytime to do anything. gonna upgrade the light on the nano tank, clean up the algae, add some more plants and put the puffer in there.

I agree. Give him some time to settle in. The pea puffer might not eat them either, no matter how hungry he gets. they are way more picky in general...the rasbora is a much better bet.

Where are you putting him, again? Not in the filterless, right? Confused?!

that thing is not filterless anymore .. I leave him there for 1 - 2 days so I can get his tank ready. I got extra plants ready to plant, got some extra substrate. All I need is a light and it's ready to go... The guy is picking up my betta tomorrow. If not I'll just put the tank divider back in.

Oh, 10g. Sorry, just had to read back thru.
Extra substrate? For the 10? Or the 2g? Still confused?! Lol!!

I need extra substrate for the 10g and a better light to keep sunset hygro and tiger lotus. The plan is to have the puffer in there alone with lots of plant and cherry shrimps i will also go look for snails and throw in there. Kinda make it so that the puffer can have plenty of live food to go around.

He's in the 2g right now... looking healthy... I'm doing daily water change to make sure the small tank is okay to him until I get the 10g ready. Ordered an LED fixture which will be coming soon. I came home today seeing no the mosquito larvae in the tank and the puffer is pooping. So I'm guessing he ate all the mosquito larvae... (at least 10 of them).
