Filterless shrimp tank with plant?

Lol well that settles that I guess :)
You should have no problem w/ growing an RCS colony in a filterless setup. All of my planted tanks have been filterless w/ no additional CO2, ferts, or water changes. I do use a soil substrate capped w/ inert sand/gravel and plant heavy from the get-go tho.
I'd say definitely get some moss since shrimp love the stuff. The pygmy chain sword should be fine but it may end up taking over eventually. You may not even need a light if you find a decent window to put the tank near.
Be sure to post pics when it's setup!

I also read that the CO2 in the tank is always trying to be equal to the CO2 make up in the atmosphere, so if you have a planted tank without water movement it's actually gonna give you less CO2I have the patience of a goldfish....

it won't affect your CO2 level unless you have injected CO2 like Steven said. The CO2 level in the water will always try to balance itself with the CO2 level in the atmosphere. So when you do injected CO2, your CO2 in the water is higher than the level in the atmosphere, that's why you don't want to have much surface agitation in such case.I have the patience of a goldfish....

rescaped the tank. Didn't like to wait for the java moss carpet. I put in some substrate and some marimo balls, a bush of java fern, a bush of wisteria, rocks. found some mini shrimp. but is having hydra problem :(. I'm going to try panacur like some ppl on TPT suggested.I have the patience of a goldfish....
