      Aw...sooo cute!!
It's a good sign his appetite is there right away.
Is all you're waiting for the light on the 10g? You realize he doesn't care if there's a light, right?! Lol.

I know... the problem is I'd like to put the plants in and ready then put him in... rather than put him in then try to re-scape later. ordered a 20'' fugeray... I kinda wanted a ray2 but it'll be too much for a small tank.

He's still shy around me but at least he's eating... I have decided to bring this tank to work after getting the puffer home ready. My plan is to put the shrimp and snail in the 10g with the puffer so it'll be big enough that he wont eat all the shrimplet... I have also noticed that some of my baby shrimps are gone too. He will eat live food for the rest of his life this way

My wife always wanted puffers and was gushing over pea puffers when i told her. just nowhere to put them right now unless i set up another tank. but i hear they are neat fish to own. definitely be keeping up to date on your experience with them

They need to be in their own tank. and preferably their own tank.

yes i read they are pretty territorial, and even aggressive towards eachother at times if kept in too small of a tank (1 per 5 gal i read). so i would need to buy a new setup or clean out and redocorate one of my current tanks first. there have been a few threads on pea puffers fairly recently that taught me a good amount on their behaviors, but always interested in multiple people experiences with them

I'd have to completely disagree with them being territorial and aggressive to each other. It all depends on the personality of the puffer, just as any other puffer. Some can be kept with multiples, some can't. I had 5 pea puffers in a 5gal. I took the chance to treat them for parasites when Sasha came to pick up that tank. One didn't survive the treatment, and I had a feeling he wouldn't as it looked as if IPs already got the better of him. The remaining 4 are temporarily in a 10gal until they're moved to their own tank (5.5gal with more surface area). They're getting along fine. At some times it even seems like they stick together as a pack.

good to know. seem to be so many varying opinions on what to do with each type of fish. i am a ways off from trying them (if i do)

I have heard from a lot of people that Pea Puffer is really picky with food.. but mine wasn't. I left 1-2 blood worms in his tank and the food was gone with in 5 minutes. He was afraid and nervous at first but when he learned that the floating stuff was actually food he went for it without much thought the second time.

They are sort of picky eaters. Mine only eat bloodworms and pest snails. Of all the foods, bloodworms seems to be generally accepted by them along with other larvae or worm like critters. They try to go for my shrimp too, but they eventually give up. They don't touch my pellets at all.

I was thinking about growing mosquito larvae for the fish.. which is quite easy.
