Plant dieing ?

I got this over a month ago, within two weeks one of em shot a runner out but the leaves have been going clear since the beginning. All other plants in the tank seem to be doing well, I'm sure going to have to start trimming one soon I think too. Heres a pic, I presume it dieing but not really up on plants. I have a coralife with two 6700m t5s in it and once a week ad a cap and a half of flourish to the (75g) tank.

Give it root fertilizer tablets. Swords use up a lot of food. And how old are your bulbs? May need to replace those.

+1 on Root tabs. Might need to look into macro ferts to supplement. Iron might be another issue as they can uptake a fairly solid amount

Ill try root tabs then. The bulbs are less than two months old. Everything else seems to be doing good, except the amazon.

Yeah, try root tabs first off and see if that helps. If it does not do the trick macro testing/dosing might be needed. Green Leaf Aquatics has cheap dry ferts packs for macros. Macros are Nitrogen(Nitrate test), Phosphorus(odd test required), Potassium(odd test required) so many dose and just see if there is any change. Flourish does have a minor amount of macros, but not much. It is mostly micro nutrients including magnesium, chelated copper, chelated iron, manganese, molybdenum, zinc, cobalt, and a few others.

second the root tabs. i am not a plant expert, but have heard swords do need massive amounts of nutrients. plants also do go through melting when changing aquariums due to new water parameters and can lose some leaves. i also use additives like flourish since i do not have a CO2 system

Plants need sunlight/natural light to manufacture their food and stay green. Make sure that the tank gets these at least for 3/4 hours daily.

Old leaves of the plants wither/turn yellow or brown, ignore them.

Water plants r of different natures/types, ask the aquarium shops man about their maintenance.

Thanks for that seahorse, I saved that diagram. Friend gave me a few root tabs. They look better except for the already clear leaves. Ill take pics when home.

Here they are now. Theyre growing and they're not on their way out like they where before. Hopefully the root tabs worked.

More than liklly what happened is that the plant you bought was emmersed grown and it need to transistion to a submersed state. This can be quite shocking if you are unaware of the emmersed state you are purchasing. Also, you end up with a plant that does not look like what you bought. Most aquatic plant nursuries emersed growth what they can since it is more cost effective. The plant in the first pic with the more vertical growth looked emmersed. There is really nothing worng with this practice as some of the best plants I have grown started as emmersed. I just don't like not knowing before hand.

Trim of the brown leaves since the are dead (or mostly dead) and will continue to decay.
