Oh I've heard the same as well on the osmocote plus but I haven't tried em yet. The seachem tabs combined with co2 injection and flourish excel does wonders!

Of course co2 and flourish excel would do great with probably any tabs lol. What type of lighting do you have, and what size tank?Just curious

I have tried some osmocote plus tabs (am a die hard flourish fan), they were crazy heavy in iron and had numerous tank imbalance issues afterwards. Lesson learned and will stick with Seachem from now on

It does indeed, our issue was Iron. They were crazy heavy in it and we were unaware at the time. It was only after breaking the tank down and removing the substrate that we realized the glass was stained with rust and the substrate was red under the surface. It could be they were using a non chelated Iron and assuming it acted the same. Not really sure, but that was our only real issue with them. I suppose if we had some heavy Iron feeding swords it might have been a bit different. Think we still have a few bags of them laying around

so I'm thinking of stepping my game up not sure about changing out lights just yet though as the led's have been growing the plants well, but will definitely be adding co2 to the tank.

i use flourish root tabs myself, and i dont do CO2. i used to dose with Excel, but ran out a ways back. i probably should pick that up again at some point, but plants seem to be doing descent. i am sure they could be greener, but i havent killed them yet which is a plus in my book
