I am in the process of setting up a high tech planted 135-gallon tank (72x18x24). To date, two 36-inch Finnex Ray2 LED lights have been purchased (39 watts, 450 PAR each). After studying graphs provided by Finnex, it appears that the light intensity will drop appreciably as you move from center. However, there is also some benefit of glass reflection but eventually the growing plants will partially block some of the light. I will also have a CO2 dosing system.
My thought is to first set up the first two lights and see how the plants grow before purchasing another two light fixtures.
What do you think?
Mike
