Hey guys, I need some ideas for an inexpensive substrate for my freshwater tank. From the research I have done on the subject it seems like I will need around 80lbs to do it. That way I can make some high and low spots in the tank. I plan on getting it going with live plants (haven't really researched what plants or fish I want yet) and finishing it off in a month or two with fish. I'm hoping for black, but beggars can't be choosers. Thanks for your help.

50lb PFS at Leslie run for about $10. You will need to rinse it really well before putting in tank. Use a 5gallon bucket and put in about 1/4 bag. Stick a hose in the bucket and let water run until it clear.010G Long fin BN grow-out
