Man, I wish that were the case. I've carefully moved out the colluseum cave structure and saw him afterwards, but it has been 2 day now and there is no place for him to hide unless he burried himself under the dirt. I'll keep looking but I dunno what happened. Searched around the tank and nothing. I've also had an oto and a red glofish danio disappear with no remains or signs where it might have went. I am done buying fish in this tank.[edit]
I've heard of this happen to other people too. Alot of them have cats though,....no cats here. If I had a fish disappear and had a cat that would be a logical explanation. This will remain one of life's mysteries.
Did you find your loach? My clown loaches hide in a decoration that is a fake stack of rocks, I did not see them for weeks and then one day I saw some whiskers poking out of a hole in the decoration at feeding time. If you haven't found your loach by now I would check inside any decoration that is hollow inside, if it is hollow it will have a hole in it somewhere so that it will fill with water and sink.
Yeah, I just found the loach today!!! I haven't seen him/her since the 8th, and now the 27th it returns. I don't have any hollow decorations, mostly live plants. I cannot understand how it stayed out of sight for almost 3 weeks.
I don't usually name my fish, but this one gets one. David Copperfield. I am really glad to have the fish back.
Maybe he went home for summer vaction. Glad to hear you finally found him.
I lost a pleco once for about 3 months. Took the decor out and everything, couldn't find him.
Then one day he was there and twice as big. Totally weird! He must have been inside some
decor, because I emptied the tank looking for him. I know it's a bit different for you but maybe
he was "incognito".
