Don't miss the upcomming auctions,  plan to spend the day (and most of the night unbagging)
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

      Re: New to Houston

I don't think I will be able to make it that weekend...have some time today so I thought I'd see if there are any shops around anyone would recommend.  I went to City Pets yesterday and they had a lot of plants but they seemed to want 4-5 times the price i'm used to paying...any other suggestions?

Vilage Tropicals had a nice selection but I haven't been there since they moved and changed the name.

          Stufish --
Right down from City Pets is Houston Aquarium Warehouse.  Dan keeps some nice plants at a good price.

Dans place has nice plants like zulaab stated.

But honestly if you thought city pet's prices were high then you might be in for a disappointment here in Houston as they are one of the cheapest places in town along with Dan's.

Did you find any plants that you can't live without?

This is the cheapest way to get plants.  Or you can stop by my house. If you do the trimming for me I'll let you have all the left overs.....it's a lot.
