  • Green water

having a few new tank issues - mostly green water.  cleared up large algae mess with help from this forum (thanks) but green water remains.  increased CO2 2-3 days ago to about 40+ ppm (i think).  plants seem to be heatlhy and are growing well but only pearl a little at the end of the day.  have thought about getting a uv sterilizer but would rather get balance right if possible.  any help is appreciated.

am also having trouble calculating CO2 level.  ph is running about 6.6-6.8, tap KH is 9-10, therefore CO2 is about 45?  If tank kh is 4, and if that is the number to use, then CO2 is about 20?  I have been told I must use tap kh since the tank has amazonia.

    75 gallons
    amazonia
    260 watts, 9.5 hours
    78 degrees
    eheim 2217x2
    pressurized CO2, DIY diffuser
30 cardinals, 10 siamese algae eaters, snails
lots of plants (hope pic comes out)
    dupla 24 fert, 6 drops/day

    Just add a few daphnia
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I've always liked diatom filters because they filter out even the tinyest haze in your water.
