Dan at HAW is selling celestial pearl danios for 3$ each. If you didn't know, this is the best deal you will probably ever see on these guys. They are great inhabitants for planted tanks, especially nanos, and have such nice coloring. The ones at HAW are still very young and small (so small that my german blue ram ate one of them, which is when i decided they would go in a species tank at least for now) with not so much color but trust me, i have 2 i got two months ago that looked the same and now theyre amazingly pretty. They are very skidish at first and stick to the lower regions of the tank. but remember to research more on these fish if you want them!

I got 13 from him and they are doing great! Mine are pretty big so I didn't have any problems.
    Cheers,

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

        Are these wild caught?

I'd like to repeat the last paragraph of the article...

Some hobbyists have already called for a boycott of the fish to prevent it from being collected into extinction in the wild. Fish collectors are already reporting dramatically reduced catches. Others have tried and successfully bred these little fish in the aquarium. My opinion is, if you want to seriously try to breed these fish, go ahead and get some. Otherwise, who wants to contribute to the extinction of such a beautiful species?

I want! (assuming that they are captive-bred).  So if anybody from the NW/cypress area wants to pick some up for me....

I think they are all captive-bred by now, a ban on collection went into place last year I think?

                Re: cpd

yeah I woudnt be surprised if they are captive bred. From what I read they seem to be pretty easy to breed. And I think I also remember reading that they had found these fish in a wider range than previously thought adding to their population.

I got 7 (6 now   gbr) and I can see their spots clearly. They do come out to play and eat well but that's probably because of the two older ones or the fact that the tank is next to my bed. Either way they'll eventually gain confidence. As far as for anyone who has ever been interested in these fish I really would recommend them if you have the space!
