  • Plant ID and Question Please

I found a little ditch with a a few plants in it and pulled some out. Wanted to get an ID on one of them.

    Here it is :

The other i think is duckweed.

Anyways was wondering if the mystery plant can be completly submerged underwater or if it has to float. Second what can i do to clean them ... There are little bugs and who knows what else floating in the water.... Sitting in a spare tank right now.

    Thanks

The big plant is an Echornia crassipes the small one Lemna minor both are floating and they are rather prolific, the size may be small because of the low temperatures but it will develop much larger when conditions are adequate.
