Blyxa japonica is a great plant for aquascaping. It is not very demanding, only needing moderate light and CO2 injection, and it forms such beautiful grassy effects. Widely used by Takashi Amano in his nature aquariums, this plant prefers acidic water. It is in fact, not a grass-like plant, but a stem plant with a tiny distance between leaves on the stem, creating a look of grass. In higher light, newer leaves will turn a goldish-red color. This can be one of the most frustrating plants to get rooted however, as they are very buoyant and are slow to grow roots to hold themselves


I like it I had glasso and dwarf hair grass and this is working much better. I will say that the roots take longer to set than the others.

In my tank the blyxa gets so big it really doesn't work as a foreground plant. Maybe HC would work for you, Darbex, if the blyxa gets too big. Also, like described in Daniel's post, blyxa can be a royal PITA to get to stay down while it grows roots.

Sorry but Dwarf baby tears is not HC if thats wat your tryin to say
And true Darbex you will have some problems mostly because its so small
it will most likely raise to surface again and again

Darbex u should try Glosso roots quickly and grows fast
Dwarf grass roots quickly too<<<Think this would look the best though

No I tried dwarf tears I just didnt know the scientific name. I will try glosso they are harder to find at least they never have them when I look for them.

I had tons tried selling them then giving them away and nothing would offer you some but are all covered with Brown algae
