Well I'm finally able to begin stocking. I picked up 5 ottos, 15 or so emerald eye rasboras and 5 flame back danios (I think that's what they're called)

My moss rocks, which I thought had died, have come back! They'll look really nice in another month or so. Today, I ordered more plants that will replace the anachris, along with a few more fish. I also got around to planting some dwarf hairgrass.

I've been fighting quite a bit of staghorn algea... still trying to find the sweet spot w/ the ferts. I've been using the Tom Barr estimative approach.

Missed this thread. Looking good. For those algae, try Flourish Excel. Spot treating is best.

I'm looking around for something. Invertz factory has some sundadanio axelrodi blue var., but they weren't ready in time for the group buy. So I've had my eye out for something local. If I can't find anything at a lfs, then I may bite the bullet and order from invertzfactory.

I have some pics coming. My hygrophila came in. I took out the anachris and planted the hygro. I also cut the rotala back quite a bit. It was almost to the top of the tank. I'm still fighting the staghorn algea. I believe its the result of 2 things.... the dead moss on some of the rocks, and older leaves on my crypts. The moss rocks are beginning to fill in nicely- so I hate to take them out. I'll probably end up taking out the crypts to put into my upcoming low tech tank. I think if I could find a flag fish, it would be able to help out a lot too.

I have 5 oto's but they don't seem to care much about staghorn algea. They keep everything else in check though.

I may have to check houston aquatics out sometime this week. Never been there before....
