you dont have to do that to make a drip plate. buy some plastic peg board from HD and just cut to size.

every time when i go into home depot...it will take me a long time to find me what i want...
and may i ask what section can i find the plastic peg board in home depot?
i may wanna do it your way...my drip plate aint that perfect..lol...
