  • Fahaka IP's: How do you know if you got 'em?

So it's been about a week since I finished treating Suki for IP's: Jungle Parasite Clear tabs, soaked her food with a good sized chunk of the tab for an hour plus, daily for 5 days. I'm trying to figure out if I need to treat her again- how do you know if you got the IP's, or if you need to re-treat?

I've read that after treatment, their poo should not only firm up but darken to a brownish/darker color, this hasn't happened. It's definitely firm, no more 'string of pearls' type poo, but instead of dark, it's white to...sort of peach in color. I feed her mostly table shrimp, crab chunks and ramshorn snails. Occasionally clams and crawfish. Is that what I'm looking for?

Anyone with fahakas have any thoughts? What color should her poo be? Should I re-treat to be safe?

    Thanks everyone!

My 1 and last fahaka's poo looks black when he eats snails ,shrimp .Krill crawfish pinkish red ,I was lucky with him i never had a problem with him ever who brought him in took good care of him.
But idk what to tell you about the meds ,I'm having the same issues with the mbu and i've heard so many different things i'm lost as how to treat him or even treat him.

The poop would be similar to that of omnivores poop when they have bloat(IP) the poop would be stringy like thread or it would be like empty goo with bits of food poop.

As long as her poop is nice and solid with whatever leftover food you fed her she'll be fine. Try stuffing her foods with some NLS Thera+A, probably the 3mm and have it soaked after being stuffed into the shrimp.

Thanks, guys! It's not stringy or snotty looking anymore, I know that's a good thing but wasn't sure if I'm supposed to be looking for a dark color. I figured maybe in the first few days/week after treatment, she may be actually be passing the worms, which would be pale...but it's just not darkening up, no matter what I feed her. I suppose I'll just watch it and treat her again if it shows signs of worms again, despite the color.

I'll try the NLS, I've been meaning to try stuffing her food anyway...thanks Quoc.
