So I want to keep a dwarf puffer in community tank
So I want to keep a dwarf puffer in community tank
I really want to keep a little pea puffer in my community tank but I dont know much about keeping pea buffer. Are they aggressive? How hard it is to feed them?
In my experiance, they can be aggressive to certain types of fish (long-finned, slow moving). I have thought about constructing a Northern Indian biotope featuring them with other species that are available from that general region. I imagine most rasbora and danios would work well with them as with possibly some of the mini moth catfish. They can be tricky to feed, but it just depends on the fish. One of ours is far easier, while the other is always problematic.

hmm then it may not be possible for me to keep one in my tank.. I have a 40 gallon tank with betta, guppies, neon tetra, oto and platy. :( I was just reading about pea puffer being peaceful but I guess if it's not possible it's okay
Not quite sure about pea puffers, but I've noticed that each fish has their own temperament. Although you read that most are peaceful, there are those who could be aggressive. It all boils down to the fish.
yeah I'll do more research before I get something for my community tank. It only has like 12 fishes (all will be under 2 inches adult size)) and 4 snail. but it's a 40 gallon tanks, so I still have a lot of space to fill
I love my nerite too much to do this sacrifice.... :( I do have a lot of pest ramshorn that I dont mind getting eaten by puffer. I only worry for my betta and nerite.
I had a green spotted puffer in with my assorted tropical/ Blood Parrot 55 gallon. He did great with everything except the Betta. It looked like a 3 year old with scissors got a hold of it lol. He is now in a 135 gal with 2 inch Red Festae fry and doing great
lol, i kinda meant score one point for the clean up crew. snails seldom get special treatment at the expensive of the fish
oh hahaha , yeah I love my snails as much as my fishes, gotta admit they did the better job at cleaning than my oto. My oto has become so picky with food ever since they got the snails to do the clean up jobs.
