no I keep my figure 8's in freshwater heavily planted tank. He is in my meanie tank with the knives.

i found that my bumblebee gobies and black molly get along well with my two 8s. I dare say the gobies are as unique as the puffers. but personality is the defining factor for the 8s without a doubt.
