sexing my oscar

OK i have read many things off the internet about sexing my oscar fish
some sites said that it is impossible until eggs appear or something
but i went on another site and they said you can tell if its is a male or female by looking at the "tubes" or anal of the oscar.
Is that possible?

there is a way you can vent him to make sure, but it ends up being more stressful on you and the fish. I tried it once and ended up getting poked
