  • Apisto ?'s

ok, i am now seriously considering apistos for my 30g cube

    my main question is
how many different sp of apaistos can i keep longterm in a
    24" Long x 24" Wide x 12" Tall 30g cube tank?

also, do they require plants to thrive?
i was planning on just keeping a sand bottom with my driftwood tangle in this tank.
would they do ok with this setup?

the filtration is going to be 1x Eheim 2213 Canister
    and 2x Aquaclear 70 HOB's

lighting is going to be 2-3 single bulb T8 flourescents.

I would say plant the tank, nothing serious, but just a few plants to make them feel more at home. I am sure that there are people here who can tell you about plants that dont need much and can live in a tank with sand as the substrate.

    What fish do Jesper have
180 WC T. Moorii Chilambo +1 Petro trewavasae.
    110
Cyps, WC Xeno Spilopterus Kipili WC/F1/F2 T. sp red Kiku
    58 S. Decorus

In a soft acid tank you can get by with Java Fern or Anubias or even watersprite
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

google the apisto forum. I'm a member but don't get on much any more.

I would keep on type and as much females as you can get.

No, but it makes them feel safe. I would buy the apisto breeding rock if you want to breed them.

Should be fine. I would put a lot of moss on the wood to. They seem to like that a lot.

personally, I would keep one 2217 and dump the HOB. However, what you got is fine. I would also up the lighting a little, but that's cause I would keep plants with them.

Hiding places are essential. They will come out for food and to hang out a bit but the love shelter that they can run to if necessary. Put Fern and Anubias and you will be fine
