you could easily do the two piles and then take the rocks you would remove from the straight line and maybe stand them up on their side and just kind of make like little paths in the tank that way the middle ground doesnt turn into a war zone. this way their line of sight would still be broken up by the rocks. but this is totally just a suggestion...It would still look good the way it is now.

I agree that the rock line is "man made" but I really like the substrate and rocks. If you wanna change it, I'd be more than happy to come help you out. I have some artificial plants from Fish Gallery (i offered em to Brian but its a journey to my house.) You can have em. Anyway, I think I have a pretty good eye for aquascaping if you want the help. Otherwise, pretty nice tank man, I really like the fish you have in there. Never seen those in person before.

They are the ones from Fish Gallery (the good ones). Some are about 8" tall and some are much taller. They are bright greens and yellows and are rubbery instead of plastic. They sway in the water and look really natural.

You can get the same plants at Garden Ridge for a lot cheaper. Ypu have to do some digging but it's worth it.

I've bought about 10 of them and they do look good in my tanks.
