i thought it might grow out of this potbelly looking phase as i got it very young. all the other in the tank looked this way too. is this strange looking to anyone else?
My guess is you got a "Balloon Green Terror" rather than a regular GT. So it's not something it will grow out of, it's a genetic trait the breeders selected for, like for Balloon Mollies.

ah makes sense. well he/she seems to be getting to that point where its attacking other fish. i thought i would have another tank setup for it, but looks like i wont be able to keep it. anyone want moderately well behaved balloon g. terror? i might see if i can trade in somewhere if not.
There isn't anything "wrong" with these fish. I've seen them at Fish Unlimited before and I thought they were kind of cool. They had some really cool "balloon flowerhorns" also. Dont get rid of him unless you absolutely want to or have to. There is nothing "wrong" with him.
