Bolivian Cichlid

Anyone have any experience with the Apistogramma? The dwarf Cichlids from Bolivia. Vet nice with lots of color.

I thought bolivia was in south america?

They are found in South America in the countries of Bolivia (found there originally), Brazil, and many more.

I use to keep apistos only in my planted tanks.

They do best in bigger tanks . I would do them in 20L minimum.

Get one male and some females and they will breed for you.

I mixed RO and tap water and it worked good for me.

yeah, there not big around these parts. Or at least not on this forum.

There was a guy a few years back that didn't have anything but 10 and 20g and bred nothing but apistos. I forgot his SC.

If you are interested, HAW most likely has the largest and most frequent shipments of WC apistos. So you can go check them out there.

But most of the bred stuff from Garmany looks better IMO.

The german ones look better but the boolivians are easier to keep from what i was told. City pets had alot of rams last time i went cant remember which ones

I've got my eye on the Super Red Dwarf from Bolivia. Very attractive fish.
