Parrots get big and like to swim in big open spaces, so more driftwood might not be necessary. maybe some caves mad of slate and other stones. I would add a couple of oddballs and bottom feeders. spotted raphael cat, royal pleco, some kind of uncommon south american knife fish ( http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...?fw&1297370432 ) would all be cool additions. looks good so far.

I like the tank, sand, rocks. I'm not crazy about the wood of choice. I also think you need a longer light. It's dark on the ends. Paint the back if possible to help hide the wiring and what not. But, overall, it's not too overdone. Just my 2 cents.

Since this thread was started, I have since upgraded to a 48" 4 bulb T5HO marineland light, (thanks mattymcscoopitup), its running all 10k's, I want to upgrade to all 12k bulbs.

I am waiting to paint the back of the tank black when I redo my floors in my house.

The wood is minimal and I would like to triple the amount and remove the rock.
I also would like to upgrade filters to 2x fluval fx5's.

I will add new photos when I paint on the black background.

Color the background and get some small plants and I think you've got a winner. Nice stock

If he does half the water changes he has planned, algae won't be an issue at all.

I've always done 90% weekly wc's, and never had a problem with algae.

Rhett, go big or go home right. Lol

Damn right. Nothing wrong with large water changes. Keeps the water clean and keeps fish growing big and healthy.
