I bought these last week. Though the colors are nice now, I'm hoping the male will intensify & get a nuchal hump later. Their fry are in another tank.

I got the fry as well. Everything was delivered in a 5 gallon bucket. :o
I don't they're closely related to the oscar (other than they're both from Central America). Can't ever recall ever seeing a hybrid of Syn X Oscar.I can be found at www.southaustinchiro.com.Comment

Not really close but are from the same family cichlidae, that's it. Oscars are from South America and Synspilum are from Mexico. They are great fish, i think better in fact, for all the paratheraps and viejas i've had theyare the smartest fish i have seen.Originally posted by CichlidFan";p="
