Plants for Central American Tank?

I was wondering what experiences people had with plants in central American tanks.
My convicts don't bother Java Ferns or Java moss. I'll try adding a moss ball.

Angels, Disacuss, seems like there are bunches of SA fish that are compatable with plants.

A lot of the time, the bigger SA and CA cichlids will really beat up your plants. Which ones in particular are you thinking of keeping? Or are you staying with the convicts?

Apparently, java moss and java fern don't taste good to a lot of fish. I think anubias is in this group, as well.

So, are you asking about types of fish, or types of plants?

Plants for Convict, Texas, parrot, severum etc.

any type of sword should do fine.

The tank i was thinging about dosent have plant substrate. Has any one tried potting a sword?

If you have uprooted a large Amazon Sword you would see that they have a large root system and would require a rather large pot.

I like to use small pots with young cripts in my growout tanks.  Being able to remove the plants makes it much easier to catch the fish.
