Ramirezi are south american cichlid bro.

Delicate due to poor shipping habits of wholesalers but just like Geophagus or cichlids like that.
Rams are not as aggressive like other fish so the might get punked by other fish.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I keep 2 in my 20g with some zebra danios, glass cats, and corys. They seem to be very easy to take care of, givin that your water parameters are good. I have them in a heavily planted tank with black water and they seem to be very happy. They love blood worms and brine. They are funny as they never leave each others side. They are really cool to watch as they look like they hover in the water and I have even seen them swim backwards at times. (Didnt think fish could do that) Just make sure you have some driftwood and/or plants as they like to hide sometimes. I hope any of this helps. Oh, one more thing, before you buy any, get the store to feed them for you, and make sure they are eating. As said above, they are pretty fragile when transported.

bolivian rams can be very aggressive, but yes most are a pretty good community fish as far as the other inhabitants go. they can be aggressive to cospecifics so you have to watch the number of males. i have had the best luck with them in acidic soft water of pH 6.5 or maybe less. they also seem to do well in harems of several females per male. this will help disperse aggression. plants create sight barriers and seem to stabilize water chemisty so i suggest those as well.

i keep 3 in my 29g, with celebese and furcata rainbows, and now a red/blue paradise fish. i just use treated (amquel+) tap water, and lots of caves (spongebob decorations) and plants. they squabble sometimes but no harm is ever done. i feed all the fish flakes, crisps, frozen things of many types, and those little cubes of dried tubifex for treats. hope this helps!

                  +1

Rams are haremically polygamous so you need three to five females per male to disperse breeding aggression.
