Thank you all for your replies and helpful tips on getting the water right for them!!  Since a lot of people are recommending Aquasoil, I was wondering can fish kick it up like sand?

No they can't kick it up like sand cause it's a bit heavier then that.....also soft on cories whiskers.

I actually covered Aquasoil with gravel I had from the tank I had before,  because of the cories and new tank cycling time. But I think it's unnecessary

Both City Pets and Fish Gallery sell fresh water RO at 0.25/gal

And I almost forgot...Fish Ranch II sold it for 0.25 gal too when Mike owned it. Dont know their price now though.
