It is not uncommon to see clowns in Malawi tanks, but there are a number of reasons its not a good choice for either group of fish. There are a lot of really great choices that work far better. First, Synodontis Njasse which is the only Syno from Lake Malawi. If they are hard to find, go with some Tang Synos. There are a handful and some are even bred in a tank and look great. The dwarf Petricola or the multipunctatus are bothe great looking and can even be bred. If your looking for stunning, check out the granulosa... or choose some loaches that are smaller and a bit more aggressive, like the tigers or zebras. They do not get anywhere near as large nor require the larger 6+ schools.In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
