I go to Fish Ranch (@ Larkwood) to pick up some Astrea Snails... but i came home with some of these instead.....

They have a whole tank full ... located strategically at the entrance to the FW section... Specially to target suckers like me...

While i was kneeling on the floor and pressing my nose up against the glass to get a closer look, I could almost hear the couple beside me exclaim "Wow.. that's kinda pricy for just plain old silver angels... let's go over there where there are some colorful ones..."

Let us know how they do, you have very good taste in Angelfish   .  Yeah, those rotten LFS owners always put the best bait at the front where you can't miss it LOL.  Are you going to keep them in  local water parameters or try to adjust the PH down for them?

Edit: I would not call you weak willed, just a connoisseur that happened upon a not to be passed up opportunity.

Oh.. there was definitely plenty of drooling..... i think i left noseprints on the glass.

haha... i like connoisseur....

I have them acclimating in my planted tank that is co2 injected. The pH in there is 6.5 so i think they'll be okay.
After they are done in QT, they'll go in with my heckels.

I saw some angel's like that at our local pet co. Surely they can't be the same "plain old silver angels" that you got.
I was almost tempted to buy them but my Koi angels are 3X their size, I feared for their life so I left the at the lfs. :(
Now I'm wondering if they were the wild caught? :?

Fine specimens. I would have left nose prints too.
Don't feel bad. I bet the owner cleans nose prints off of that tank 20 times a day.

I'm not sure if anyone in the US has bred any altums in captivity, and i doubt petco would sell wild stuff... I'm willing to bet it's indeed a "plain old sliver angel"

while researching petco's livestock.... i just realized that they sell livestock online!...or maybe i'm just out of touch...

I don't know about buying Petco livestock online.  I won't buy livestock at their store so I don't think I would trust them shipping them to me  :? .  No telling what you'd get in the bag  8O .
