Re: Female Jaguar just layed eggs with no mate
Either the pink covict will fertilize the eggs, or they won't be fertilized at all and she may eat them. But yes even if they are the only fish in the tank they can and will lay eggs. :wink:A house without a puffer is not a Home.

Re: Female Jaguar just layed eggs with no mate
Really? OK , I have another question...Like i said this female jag is about 6" long, is it too late to try and put a smaller/younger male in with her, to try and breed them? Ever heard of a female mating with a much smaller male? Is this possible?

Re: Female Jaguar just layed eggs with no mate
There are a couple of Jags even nice males floating around.. but like many people know... they are true to their name.. they will hunt down nearly anything in your tank once they get in the mood to breed and will kill nearly everything. I have seen how territorial they get when it gets to be breeding time :)

Re: Female Jaguar just layed eggs with no mate
i tell you most jags can live just fine in a community you just have to really watch what your doing and at what size you add.your best bet now would be to try and find a 4-5 male to add.
