  • 90 Gallon S.A. Discus/Pleco Tank Journal

I will add pictures to this tomorrow when I get off work - just setting this thread up so the old thread on this tank (found here) can be locked.

    Thanks!

just wonder is it true tht black sand versus the sand this guy has that black sand can absorb you color and make your tank look less colorful?

the discus also look much larger.
they look great! any breeding activity?
i think i would like a small group of Sterbai Cories, for my 40g when i set it up with my Aquedens rivulatus when i gethim.
do you think this will be feasable?
i really like the look of the sterbais!

They are growing like CRAZY! We feed Tetra Color Bits four times a day, as well as blood worms two to three times a week, and "screwcumbered" zucchini once a week.

Unfortunately, no breeding activity so far. Dan said once they get bigger they might start to pair up. He also said however that even if they did, the odds of success are low with our hard tap water.

The Sterbais are super cool, but I've quickly become a fan of all Corys - not just the Sterbais.

I'm not sure if they would work with a Green Terror though... Perhaps someone else reading this could weigh in.

awesome tank setup...good to see the discus so healthy and happy. question though...do you have any problems with all the poop going straight for the rockpile...doesnt it gather there?

Yes, it does gather there. The Corys do what they can, and when I vacuum once a week I get the rest.

I'm doing two 75% water changes a week.

when it gathers in one spot makes it easier to vacuum! Plus with all the poop hiding in the rocks, makes the tank always look clean.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
