my wood delivery did not make it Friday, so it will be next week. I have already drawn out the plans for the new stand. I still need to pick out my hinges to verify how they will line up so i know a few brace placements.

Built a new frame for the base stand this past weekend (3rd time as I keep changing it). Also picked up a wet/dry filter with overflows and pumps. Now I have to think about the stand I have built because the WD barely fits under it.

I'm going to keep an eye on this because I'm going to be building a stand for a bowfront. I don't know if this would work for you, but I think I can keep the stand safe and strong by moving the back bottom 2x4 that lays horizontal up about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up. I think I'll be able to put my wet/dry under that with enough clearance and keep the stand frame secure. Not that you have to or even want to, but if you figure out a better way to keep a wet/dry with enough room under the tank, then I want to see it. keep up with pics because i might just steal your basic design.

This is the old framing with the tank on it (wet dry would not fit)

Here is the new frame with the wet dry in it. The only way to get it in now is through the top. As discussed with others, and since cleaning the entire wet dry is not needed I build it into the stand as a permanent fixture. i may be able to remove one of the intakes and make it so I could work it in through the side of front doors.

              New update:

Well this project has taken some serious turns lately. I was talking with a few folks here on the board and have changed my plans. The filtration is now planned to be FX5 and a 2215. The biggest change is with the stand. I was talking with Justen from Custom Aquarium Cabinets and he gave me input on how to make my stand right. After talking for a while I decided to have him just help by making the stand. I still wanted to do some of the work so he made the stand and I get to finish it with stain. It turned out awesome. will post pics soon.

Highly recommend him for any cabinet needs.

Here is a pic of the stand and the hood that Justin at Custom Aquarium Cabinets did for me. I have not stained it yet. The tank is 30" tall so it should look good all together.

Thanks again to Justin at Custom Aquarium Cabinets for hooking me up with a great cabinet within my budget. Awesome guy.

                  UPDATE.
I put the stain on and have one coat of clear. I will be putting 2 more coats of clear before putting it back together.

The tank was put in place tonight. It looks great. My wife actually said we should get rid of the table and make a tank viewing area!!! I already have 2 110 gal. in the room. Maybe I can add more big tanks and make it my tank room.

Well, I did not have to edit photos today due to technical difficulties so I got to work on the tank. Here is my progress today.

first I washed and added sand to the tank.

Then I added my centerpiece, a large piece of wood.

                              Then I cleaned my rocks.

once the rocks were clean I began to place them.

After I was happy with the rocks i added my plants.
