    The purpose of the QT is not so much for the benefit of the newcomers but mostly for the benefit of the fish you already have. Granted it would be very much easier to deworm, deparasite & treat the newcomers for disease in a separate bare bottom tank, but the more important reason we keep newcomers separate from existing stock for several weeks is so they won't pass any nasty cooties to the fish you already have.

    Just 2 months ago i lost 5 great big altums in my 125g because I got lazy and i parked a new pair of discus in the altum tank for a day while i was rearranging QT tanks in the fishroom... i'm still in mourning.

    I used to live in New Orleans. ChuckBam in covington breeds some pretty nice pigeons. Aquatic Specialties on Williams & 33rd occasionally has wilds too.

      No I actually picked them at HAW. I had to do alot of convincing to get John to import some wilds. He has a pretty nice group of greens
