man this sucks!! Congrats on the wigglers, but i'm not gonna lie, it kinda (blanks) me off, i cant breed ANYTHING and yours get naked the first night in tank. LMAO I'm about to get my discus tank up and running so hopefully mine are as slutty as yours. lol

Yeah well I got lucky and didnt have to find different ones to pair off I got them as pairs already. But I was glad to see them start so quickly. Good luck to you and post up picks when you get them

Woke up this morning and found out that the pair went at it again over night. They are really liking each other.:love:

I lost a discus today. Not one of the breeding ones but still. I dont know what went wrong I can not see anything wrong with him/her. I have lost several of the Rasboras I just got also. I checked the water and all tested at 0. That I noticed there was no visible signs that something was wrong. I feed them this morning and got home and he was just on the bottom dead as a dorn nail and pale. I put some Primafix and aquarium salt in. Anyone have any other ideas?

Was he/she behaving normally this morning? Any signs at all of extra slime coat, white stringy poo, flicking and rubbing on things, darkened color, poor appetite, hanging around the top of the tank or in the corners?

Know the feeling.....while yours were trying I had 2 pairs on opposite ends of my 125 making another go. One got to free swimmers. Unfortunately, they did not survive 24 hours.

Flicking and rubbing on things? They have flicked their fins no rubbing that I have seen
Darkened color? Havent seen a material change
Poor appetite? On the one that passed others seemed to be fine
Hanging around the top of the tank or in the corners?I didnt see this happen but one of them is now hanging at the top and some of his colors in a few areas have faded to a silver color from the blue. I QT'd him in another tank put more Primafix and raised the temps to about 86

Ok, watch the others closely. What I asked are some of the most common signs of an ailing discus. If you ever see a discus with excess slime, you will know what it is. I'm not sure Pimafix will do the trick, it's main purpose is to treat fungus and bacteria infections. Do you have any Metro or Clout? I hate to start guessing on what a fish has and experimenting with meds, but sometimes there's not an alternative. If only we could teach them to talk or write.

Right I wish they would. I assumed that it is either an internal parasite or bacterial infection since I can not see any outside infections. How do you tell about excess slime coat?

I think it is gill disease they have most of the symptoms of it the one from yesterday died in the QT tank this morning and the breeding male is coming down. Did a 50% water change and giving them a salt bath and added TC. Hopefully I can stop it before he passes. I will be depressed if I loose another especially him.

Well I picked up a Red turq and a Leopard from Dan's last week. I will post pics as soon as I get internet at home again. Stupid comcast went out and they wont come to my home till tomorrow.
